This is the definitive candy store for the 21+ crowd, the place Willy Wonka might have dreamed up were he more attuned to adults than children. A true luxury candy boutique, Sugarfina carries treats from artisan sweets makers found around the world and has a collection found nowhere else. Try their beloved Brut and Rosé gummies made with Dom Pérignon vintage champagne, or sample the new tequila-infused gummies made with George Clooney’s tequila label Casamigos. There’s also single malt scotch cordials imported from Germany and rosé rock candy swizzle sticks dipped in edible 24K gold, just to name a few. Sprinkles Cupcakes & Cupcake ATM
The cheery Beverly Hills Sprinkles Cupcakes flagship store is ground zero for the ongoing cupcake craze. As the world’s first cupcake bakery in 2005—and later, home to the world’s first 24-hour cupcake ATM too—this sophisticated sweets shop remains at the epicenter of the little cake’s massive popularity. Legions of celebrities and epicureans adore the brand, which, after becoming an overnight sensation, grew into a nationwide chain. And whether you’re tapping your Louboutins while waiting in line for a red velvet cupcake inside or hitting up the cupcake ATM late night, these iced delicacies still deliver. 9635 S. A fresh take on the delectable Parisian treat, ‘Lette’s macarons are available in au courant flavors like Earl Grey, violet cassis, and passion fruit, among classics like rose, pistachio, and vanilla. The shop (initially called “Paulette”) has since expanded to six more locations around the greater Los Angeles area, and ships its coveted macarons nationwide. New to Beverly Hills in 2017, the famous macaron-makers of the 1862-founded French luxury bakery Ladurée recently opened an outpost in the heart of the city. Step inside to be imported into a pastel-hued indoor Parisian garden fantasy, complete with white wicker furniture and trellis-adorned walls. And what to taste? A Parisian-style patisserie whimsically staffed by ladies dressed in tutus, Le Mervetty offers up cream-filled, meringue-based puffs properly known as merveilleux. And once you try these cloud-like meringue balls, in flavors like praline, coffee, or speculoos topped with goodies like dark chocolate or cookie crumbles, ohhh, you’ll be hooked. There’s bite-size petit mereveilleux perfect for solo snacking as well as le grand mereveilleux, a crowd-ready confection. Known for it’s hand-crafted Swiss truffles and chocolates, Teuscher’s Beverly Hills flagship store (founded in 1983) is a landmark for haute chocolate-loving adults and anyone looking for a truly ooh-la-la artisanal gift. Each 100% all-natural delicacy is flown directly from the brand’s kitchens in Zürich, where they’re made with 80-year-old family recipes. Don’t miss their decadent champagne truffles made with top-of-the-line Dom Pérignon (yep, just like Sugarfina’s). The shop also has excellent coffees and trendy matcha lattes. 9548 Brighton Way
Once the personal chocolate maker to Jacqueline Kennedy, designer chocolatier Diane Krön and her husband, Tom, also count luminaries like Andy Warhol, Katherine Hepburn, Henry Ford, and Estee Lauder among their legendary patrons. The couple’s son David now creates their artisanal small-batch chocolate using the family recipe, which calls for as little added sugar as possible. A Beverly Hills tradition since 1942, this beloved chocolatier’s on-site factory inspired one of the most classic physical comedy scenes ever: the infamous I Love Lucy episode where Lucy and Ethel get jobs in a chocolate factory. Alongside the diehard I Love Lucy buffs that still visit the shop to pay homage, Edelweiss has counted Frank Sinatra, Nancy Reagan, and Lauren Bacall among its Hollywood patrons. Today it’s one of the oldest confectionaries in America that still process its chocolates by hand.
