How To Make: Authentic Guacamole
Our favorite guac recipe direct from Mexico
It’s hard to pinpoint when exactly the recent guacamole fever began… but one thing’s for sure, it’s here to stay. The perfect balance of rich and light, with all the creamy, zesty elements that your palate could ever desire. Is guacamole the perfect food? It might well be. We’ve traveled near and far to find a truly authentic recipe. In fact, we went all the way to Punta Mita, Mexico, to field test guacamole at Casa Aramara. Try this recipe at home, bring it to a party, or just go and have it beachside in Mexico like us. More chips, anyone?
Ingredients (serves 6):
♦ 2 ripe avocados
♦ 2 tomatoes
♦ 1/2 red onion (medium sized)
♦ 2 Serrano peppers
♦ 100gr panela Cheese
♦ 10 grams fresh coriander
♦ 2 limes
♦ Sea salt
♦ Ground pepper
Method:
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit and scoop into a medium-sized bowl. With a large spoon, mash the avocado until smooth. Finely chop the tomatoes, onion and Serrano peppers and add to the mix. Squeeze in the lime juice and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Scoop the guacamole into your favorite serving bowl, and garnish with panela cheese and coriander. Enjoy!
Go and try the guacamole at Casa Aramara
